Census GIS

Where are populations of demographics within Los Angeles or anywhere in the US? Where are areas of higher poverty and are the resources appropriately placed in areas of need? Where are populations over 65 … under 5? What are the demographics in areas of higher crime? How do they votes? Where are populations reducing?


Above are a sample of questions that can be answered using GIS with increasingly friendlier software and enormous amounts of free data. You are formally invited to join us at the Honnold Library Monday March 27th at 8:30 – Noon to explore Census 2000 data using GIS to display colorful maps on such topics as population density and population distribution.
